Drilling and Completion Technologies

As a small business, we often have opportunities to stretch our capabilities beyond established methods and procedures. We have an entrepreneurial spirit in our partner team and we tend to nurture the same with our staff. We want employees to treat this as their own company and take actions and risks that reflect that mentality. As such, we have had to push existing drilling and completion technology to their limits on several occasions.

Urban Drilling: Finley has drilled seven horizontal wells within 5 miles of Downtown Fort Worth.  Due to limited pad sites, we had to drill several highly deviated horizontal wells often referred to as “turn-a-zontals”. Though not unique to Finley, the well paths necessary to fully develop the acreage were aggressive by any standards.  The successful implementation of this program is a credit to the abilities of our engineering and operations employees.

West Texas: Finley acquired a mature property in 2007.   After much study and diligence, our staff developed a deeper section and applied an entirely new approach to completions in the field.  Production has grown from 125 BOPD to 2100 BOPD.  Again, the results are a credit to our operations and technical staff.
